Passport Extension

An adult passport can be extended for up to 10 years from the day it was issued, and up to 5 years for a minor citizen under the age of 18. A passport that was given as a result of a lost/stolen/mutilated passport will be extended by one year only.

In order to extend a passport please provide the following:

  1. Passport
  2. Passport Extension Form
  3. Return Mail Payment

Notes:

  • Passports issued to minors are only valid for a maximum of 5 years, regardless if the holder is now an adult.
    • Example: A 20-year-old, holding a passport that was issued to him at the age of 15 cannot extended his passport. He must apply for a new passport.
  • When applying to extend a minor's passport, both parents (regardless of citizenship) must sign the application in front of a notary public or Consular employee.
  • There is no charge for the extension service.
  • Be advised, a passport may be limited by several types of constraints including:
    1. Required personal information update (married, divorced, widowed).
    2. The citizen has not been to Israel for over 10 years.
    3. Military service.
